Windows / Mac: Fireface UC: Latest manual for Fireface UC, version 2.0 02/2019: Windows / Mac: Manual (RUS) Windows / Mac: Fireface 800: Latest manual for Fireface 800, version 3.3, 07/2014: Windows / Mac: Fireface 400: Latest manual for Fireface 400, version 2.0, 07/2014: Windows / Mac: Fireface TCO. The Fireface 802 renews RME's reputation built on the legendary Fireface 800. 60 channels of audio, high-end microphone preamps, reference class converters, a complete effects section and operation at up to 192 kHz are the base for many more features. The Fireface UFX+ becomes the center of any multitrack studio because it is able to handle up to 94 channels I/O with ease. With unprecedented flexibility, compatibility, the inclusion of DURec (Direct USB Recording) and RME's famous low latency hardware and driver designs, the Fireface. The new interface not only makes the leading-edge RME Fireface technology available for every PC and Mac computer, it also provides a unique low-latency concept and a high grade of performance and compatibility, making the dream of the perfect and future-proof mobile pro audio recording solution come true. The RME Fireface 800 already has a built-in, low jitter quartz clock of its own, dubbed Steady Clock, which I found to be rock solid for ensuring that my PC, my audio being recorded through the Fireface 800 and my midi input devices were synchronised. The FF800 is the same but better: Excellent PC/Mac drivers, excellent convertion.

Browse to the folder you saved MAC OSX 10.6.6 in, and select the Mac OSX 10.6.6-0 vmdk file. It will now show up as a second drive in options. That's it!Configuring file extensions in Smart Folders:The application is registered for all extensions by default, however, some Windows and other programs have specific file extensions that may need to be registered manually by the user.

I have a quandry.
800

My PC studio computer has needed a better interface for a while now (m-audio 410 isn't cutting the mustard) and also im taking my laptop (MB-Pro) out to the clubs so want a good interface for that.
Its looks like the options are:
- RME Fireface 400 and use for both (£650 ish)

Fireface Usb Settings

800
- Apogee Duet and then upgrade studio interface later on. (£350 ish)

Rme Fireface 800 Drivers For Mac

i like the idea of having a really portable soundcard for the laptop too so i can do music anywhere but i hear both can be powered by the laptop (duet has no power supply).

so, my question is if I use an RME for both am I going to have to update the fireware each time i switch from PC to Mac ?? This would be seriously annoying..
Also, has anyone done an A/B on these two cards - i hear both are really good. I presume they both work well with Ableton too?

Thanks in advance.
